Initial contact
It starts with a conversation. Reach out by phone or through our site and we’ll talk through what you’re hoping to do, answer your early questions, and point you to our project gallery and reviews. If MDR looks like the right fit, we’ll set a time to meet at your home — no cost, no pressure.
Free in-home consultation
This part is all about you. Our team comes to your home, walks the space, and listens to how your family actually lives in it. We talk openly about goals, realistic budget ranges, and timeline — so by the end you have a clear picture of the process and whether we’re the right partner.
Design & development
Once we’ve agreed to move into design, our team gets to work on a plan built around your space and budget. We bring trusted trade partners and product specialists into the process so the scope stays realistic — then develop a precise, detailed estimate of everything the project needs.
Design review
We sit down and walk you through the full design and a clear, line-item estimate. Where final selections aren’t made yet — tile, plumbing fixtures, shower glass and the like — we include fair allowances based on real project and industry averages, so there are no vague numbers hiding in the total.
Contract & schedule
When you’re happy with the design, you’ll approve a detailed construction contract. Think of it as the roadmap for your project: a defined scope, a milestone payment schedule tied to real progress, and a preliminary timeline showing when selections are due and when work happens. Every deposit you’ve already paid applies to your project cost.
Final selections
Using a custom selection sheet, we guide you through finishes in the right order — cabinetry, countertops, tile, flooring, lighting, plumbing and more. We pace the decisions so they feel clear instead of overwhelming, and so nothing stalls the build down the line.
Construction
Now our crew gets to work — and we treat your home like it’s our own. We protect your space, your family, and your pets, manage every trade, and handle ordering and installation from start to finish. You’ll get regular updates and a clear point of contact, and we wrap up with a full walkthrough and orientation of your new space.
After the build
We stand behind our work. Everything we install carries a one-year workmanship warranty, and we’re always a phone call away if a question comes up. MDR is licensed and insured (MN #BC694036) and EPA Lead-Safe certified — and for storm and water-damage restorations, we work directly with your insurance company to keep the whole process low-stress.
